Snapchat has without any doubt become the most popular social media application among users. While the messaging app is already feature packed, Snapchat Plus adds a great experience with amazing new upgrades. Snapchat also regularly adds new features to its paid subscription. It also changes the app’s icon and who has re-watched your story. You can also mark specific friends as BFFs. To help you get the point across, Snapchat’s Plus membership has introduced a new feature called the Snapchat Friend Solar System. Which determines your closest friends on a planet.

Snapchat Planets: What Is the Friend Solar System?

You already know what the solar system actually looks like and how it works. Every planet in our solar system revolves around the sun and is separated by a certain distance. If you use Snapchat Plus then you are the sun of your friend and the solar system.

The first planet on Snapchat according to the list is Mercury and it represents the person you interact with the most and stay connected with. That is, your best friend on Snapchat. This process works for your next 8 best friends on Snapchat which means your top eight best friends will be given a planet based on how close you are to them.

Snapchat Planets Order and Meaning (2024)

Each planet in the Snapchat friends and circle corresponds to a different position in your best friends list and the order of the planets in the solar system is the same as the order of the planets in our current and solar system because you are the sun of your Snapchat friends and solar system. Mercury is assigned to the friend with whom you snap and chat the most. And Venus is your second closest friend and this goes all the way up to Neptune who is its eighth best friend.

And to give you more information about Snapchat Planet, we have explained them in detail below along with their corresponding emojis.

Mercury

It is like a real solar system. Mercury is the first planet in Snapchat and the solar system and represents the users first closest friend. Mercury is represented by a red planet with five red hearts surrounding it.

Venus

Venus is the second planet in the solar system and the users second closest friend. Venus is represented by a light grey planet with pale pink and blue hearts revolving around it.

Earth

third planet in the solar system is Earth and it is the user’s third closest friend. It is represented by the same color as the real Earth, with a moon and stars and red hearts.

Mars

Mars on Snapchat represents your fourth closest friend. It is the fourth planet in our solar system. It is symbolized by a red planet with stars and purple and blue hearts surrounding the friend symbol.

Jupiter

Snapchat and the solar system are a replica of our solar system. Jupiter corresponds to the fifth poorest friend of users.

Saturn

Saturn is the sixth planet in our solar system and represents the user’s sixth closest friend. It is represented by an orange planet with a ring and stars.

Uranus

The planet Uranus is the seventh closest friend of Snapchat users and is represented by a planet without a heart.

Neptune

Last but not least, Neptune is the eighth planet in our solar system and denotes the eighth friend in your friend’s list in the app’s Solar System. Remember, there is no love or life on this desolate Blue Planet.

How Does Snapchat’s Friend Solar System Work

Most importantly, you need to subscribe to Snapchat Plus to see what planet you are on in your friend’s universe. Once you subscribe, whenever you open a friend’s profile you will see Best Friend or Friends in beige with a gold outline. Sending Best Friend means that both of you are in each other’s top 8 best friends while Sending Friends means that he/she is in your list of best 8 friends but he/she is not in your list.

To make it even more interesting the closest one is represented as an eclipse. They are each represented by a different position in their best friend list. For example if you are on Jupiter in their Snapchat and Solar System then it means you are their fifth closest friend or how can you check your friend’s Snapchat and Solar System. Which planet are you on?

  • Open your friend’s profile on Snapchat.
  • Locate and tap the Best Friends badge to reveal which planet you represent.

And that’s it; this is how Snapchat’s friend solar system works. Do remember you need to be a Snapchat Plus subscriber to have access to Snapchat’s friend’s solar system.
